DTL is part of a team that includes WCIT Architecture, Edith Kanaka‘ole Foundation and PBR Hawaii and is tasked with the master planning of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs’ (OHA) Kaka‘ako Makai properties. OHA’s Kaka‘ako Makai properties include nine parcels (30 ac.).

As part of the master planning process a statewide community outreach effort is under way. As it is OHA’s feduciary responsibility to generate income from the Kaka‘ako Makai lands to improve the well-being of Native Hawaiians, DLT is planning and coordinating a series of twelve public meetings accross the state to gather thoughts and ideas from OHA beneficiaries and community stakeholders on how these lands should be utilized. DTL designed and developed all meeting material including a presentation, advertisements, flyers, comment cards, signage and posters. An online discussion tool was also implemented to allow the public to continue discussions online, after the meetings have taken place.
